Favorite Laruku Albums
Nov 16 2000:
This was typed for a favorite album list on a ML.

ossu genki minna

Anyway, my list goes on. ^^; I'mreally glad to hear someone likes Ectomorphed works.. .And and and Rei just made me read the lyrics to A Silent Letter. PHEW!! *fwaps her* My mind is boogled.

anyway, my list:

1: Dune
2: Real
3: Tierra
4: Ray
5: Heart
6: Ark
7: Heavenly
8: True

(remix albums not counted. ^^)

Well, main reason for Dune is that, no matter how many times I hear it, it just is beautiful to me. It's dark, so beautifully dark, and it fits the atmosphere of my room *laughs*.. .And it goes through my boring school life with me most of the year. This album particularly spaces my life throughout the second half of this year; it's like I'm in harmony with the songs already.

In this album, I especially find Floods of Tears (you just read the lyrics, it'll charm, I'm sure.), Taste of Love (It's vicious.), Tsuioku no Jyoukei, and As if In A Dream. This album may be rawer, but I find that the parts are lovely. There's not a single song which I dislike, although initially it would never have been my favorite (which was Ark, then Tierra.)

About Real, it's just that the album... The instrument playing is simply. .. Phew. ..^^; The songs in it are strong, even the non-singles ones. I don't get sick of it, too. The songs make me feel better (all laruku songs do actually) when something bad happened.

Of course, my utmost favorite songs are Bravery (This song is a really gentle way of conveying, really... "Conveying it gently won't do", but this is the way he chose to convey it, with such a lovely tune... I think I'm melting, someone save me.. ..^^;), A Silent Letter (Powerful, too powerful... The song itself is already great.. With such lyrics, it's simply too powerful.), Stay Away, and Finale.

By the way, this album reminds me of the novel which I'm currently reading, Neverwhere. That novel is as good as this album in their particular aspects.

Well, the sole reason I put Heavenly and True down at the bottom is this: It's not that I can't stand it, it's just that, to me, the songs are never as powerful as the above ones. Just having "cute" and happy songs do not cut it in my opinion, because I am not that kind of person (as you can prolly see).
But then again, the style has changed. I do admit I like Heavenly and True. They have their good songs; I really like Garasu Dama, And She Said , Flower, and Good Morning Hide, but over all, the distinctive mood of the album isn't what I can listen to all day, and the songs do not have a lasting, cutting edge to them. (it would be more appropriate to say the 'overall mood' actually, because some of the songs are really powerful _on their own_.)

And of course, whether I like these albums do not have to do with whether I like Laruku with Sakura or Laruku with Yukki better.

I uploaded a little fairy-tale comic where hyde is the princess and tetsu is the prince tho. They're all in SD form. ^____^; ;;; *gurgles*

-matsumoto... Neverwhere is by Neil Gaiman, btw. ^^; *hugs her copy* Richard has a boyish and rumpled just-woke-up look to him, and Door is a frail, small redhead.. .does that sound familiar? *giggles* (I don't like Anne Rice. Mwahahhahahaha!)
